Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical value of transradial and femoral artery coronary intervention in the treatment of elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Methods

Fifty elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome who were treated in our hospital from May 2016 to August 2017 were randomly divided into two groups of 25 patients. The control group was treated with PCI via the femoral artery. The patients in the observation group underwent radial artery PCI.The operative conditions, operative success rates, major cardiovascular events and complications of the puncture site were compared between the two groups.

Results

There was no significant difference in contrast agent dosage, X-ray exposure time, operation time and the total incidence of major cardiovascular events between the two groups (P>0.05). Compared with the control group, the puncture time, postoperative bed rest Time, postoperative discharge time were shorter, the incidence of complications at the puncture site was lower, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusions

The success rate of transradial and transthoracic PCI is similar, but the transradial artery can effectively reduce the major cardiovascular events and the complications of the puncture site. The postoperative bed rest time is short and has good safety.
