Abstract:

Objective

To explore the correlation of ankle-braehial index(ABI)and severity coronary atherosclerosis lesions.

Methods

According to the coronary artery angiography , 967 patients were divided into coronary artery disease (CHD) groups(432cases) and no-CHD groups(535cases) , All patient recieved consummate history , blood biochemistry and ABI tested, To observe the value of predict the severity of coronary atherosclerosis by ABI.

Results

CHD group and CHD group of patients with ABI abnormal rate was statistically significant (P<0.05); non CHD group and CHD group with single vessel disease, double vessel lesions, 3 lesions in patients with abnormal rate of ABI was 22, there were significant differences(P<0.05); patients in group CHD ABI was significantly lower than that in non CHD group, 3 lesions in patients with ABI in CHD group was significantly lower than that of single and double vessel lesions groups, significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05); the patients ABI value and Gensini score by linear correlation analysis, the results show that the CHD group of patients with ABI was the negative correlation with the Gensini score, of which 3 lesions group ABI patients were negatively correlated with Gensini score.

Conclusion

There is strong correlation between ABI and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis. And ABI may be helpful to predict the severity of coronary atherosclerosis and used for screening high risk population of CHD.

Key words: Coronary artery disease, Ankle-brachial index, CHD
