Abstract:

Objective

To study the therapeutic effect of transcatheter arterial intervention for chronic total occlusion of coronary artery (CTO).

Methods

Sixty-six patients with CTO treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from March of 2014 to August of 2016 were enrolled. All patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The success rate of PCI, the efficiency of bilateral angiography, the effectiveness of microcatheter use, and complications, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) before and after surgery were analyzed.

Results

The success rate of PCI using microcatheter was higher than that of PCI without using microcatheter, and the success rate of bilateral angiography was higher than that of non-bilateral angiography (P<0.05). LVEF increased gradually at 3, 6 and 12 months after PCI, higher than that before operation (P<0.05). The complication rate was 6.06% (4/66).

Conclusion

Transradial PCI has a high success rate in the treatment of CTO patients. Intraoperative use of microcatheter and bilateral angiography can significantly improve the success rate, but also effectively improve cardiac function, with fewer complications, and is worthy of clinical promotion.

Key words: Chronic total occlusion of coronary artery, Transradial interventional therapy, Therapeutic effect
