To investigate the application effect of synchronous operation in the treatment of coronary artery disease combined with carotid artery stenosis.

Ninety patients with coronary artery disease and carotid stenosis treated in Peking University International Hospital from February of 2016 to June of 2017 were divided into two groups according to surgical methods. The control group was treated with staging operation, and the observation group was treated with synchronous operation. The treatment effects, total waiting time for the operation, the degree of stenosis of carotid artery before and after operation, quality of life evaluated by SF-36 scale and the adverse clinical cardiovascular events.

The overall effective rates of both two groups were 100.00%(45/45), and there was no statistically difference (P>0.05). After operation, the degree of stenosis of internal carotid artery was improved in two groups, and there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The scores of quality of life in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The quality of life scores of two groups were higher than those before operation. The quality of life score in observation group was higher than that in control group (P<0.05). The total waiting time for the operation in the control group was (32.14±1.24) days, and that in the observation group was (0.12±0.05) days. The total waiting time of observation group was shorter than that of control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse cardiovascular events was 6.67% (3/45) in control group and 8.89% (4/45) in observation group, and there was no statistically difference (P>0.05).

Simultaneous surgery has a definite effect in the treatment of coronary artery disease combined with carotid artery stenosis, the treatment time is significantly shortened, and the quality of life of patients is significantly improved.
