Application of mindfulness meditation training combined with estazolam in elderly hypertensive patients with sleep disorder

Objective

To analyze the effect of mindfulness meditation training combined with estazolam in elderly hypertensive patients with sleep disorder.

Methods

From January 2017 to June 2018, 82 elderly hypertensive patients with sleep disorder were randomly divided into two groups. The control group (41 cases) received antihypertensive therapy and routine psychiatric nursing. The observation group (41 cases) received mindfulness meditation training combined with estazolam on this basis. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQL), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) before and after intervention were compared between the two groups.

Results

The sleep quality, sleeping time, sleeping time, sleep efficiency and sleep disorder scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05), while the SBP and DBP of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Mindfulness meditation training combined with estazolam in elderly hypertension patients with sleep disorders can correct sleep disorders and improve blood pressure level.
